The Olympus OM-D E-M1 is a great, feature-packed and weather-sealed camera that's fast and delivers high-quality photos and videos
The out-of-the-box JPEG quality could be better and the sheer number of configuration options can at best test your memory and at worst, overwhelm. It deserves a better manual, as well as a second card slot
One of the fastest, most feature-laden cameras you can buy for less than $1,500, you really need to spend some quality time going through all the settings before using the Olympus OM-D E-M1.

We tested the E-M1 with the new 12-40mm constant aperture f2.8 Pro lens, which in itself is a masterpiece of mechanics and optics. Focus is lightning fast and images are excellent for sharpness, resolution and colour fidelity. The camera feels like a unit costing several thousand dollars more.
We tried to find fault, but there is nothing we dislike about the EM1
From time to time a camera comes along that sets new standards. Nikon's D800, Canon's 5D MkII, and the Olympus OM-D E-M5 all raised the bar at the time of their release. The E-M1 does it again. It is priced against the mid-range DSLRs from other makers bu...
